Groves Yard Welcomes The Reluctant Cheesemonger

We’re delighted to welcome Robert, Lou and The Reluctant Cheesemonger to Groves Yard – and we think cheese lovers are going to be very happy to have them here.

The Reluctant Cheesemonger is on a mission to discover and champion cheeses made by small, ethical dairy farms where animals are respected and well cared for. Their range includes cheeses they produce along with producers from across the UK and Europe, with a particular focus on organic, regenerative and nature-friendly farming.

It’s about more than simply selling good cheese. The Reluctant Cheesemonger wants to support farmers who are doing things differently and help customers discover the stories, people and producers behind the cheese on their plate. They have a special focus on calf at foot producers that allow the calf to remain with the cow for an extended period of time.

Alongside their carefully selected cheeses, you’ll be able to enjoy cheese platters and wine with all the accompaniments at Groves Yard or take one home to enjoy – perfect for a relaxed lunch, a gathering with friends or simply treating yourself to something delicious.

“We’re passionate about finding and supporting small dairy farmers who care about their animals, their land and the food they produce, said Robert. We want to give people the chance to discover their cheeses and be part of a different kind of dairy revolution.”

The Reluctant Cheese Monger is now open and located between Groves Shop and Rise & Flour Café towards the back of the buildings.

Welcome The Reluctant Cheese Monger to Groves Yard – we look forward to seeing what’s on the cheeseboard!
